Response from Carl. Thanks Sibel. A United Nations job would be an interesting one for sure. Normally I don't post the 2-5 word Career Objectives I receive because the Career Objective really needs to be written in sentence form to show the reader what you're looking for and what you offer otherwise there is no point in having one in your resume.

In your example, you offer a unique job type that I don't see all the time, and that's a job with a specific government organization, the UN in this case.

In this instance, any previous political experience you have would probably help your candidacy (ie. experience working for a political candidate, running for office, holding office, etc) and I suspect a degree in Political Science or other related field could help too. Speaking multiple languages would be another benefit to mention in your objective as that's what the United Nations is all about, a meeting place of different countries who speak different languages where bilingual or multilingual candidates tend to be valued.

These would all be things that would be helpful to have in your Career Objective as would a reference to the specific type of United Nations job you'd be interested in.
