The Chosen Child

I work for a bank and transferred departments, there is one other lady who has seniority over me, we both wanted the same days for vacation and I was told no which I understood. Well this year someone who has less seniority then me is trying to get the same time off as this same lady and the manager says we'll have to talk about it. I wanted the time off to attend my cousins wedding in Vegas she's attending a friends wedding in Pittsburgh. This same girl always has to take time off for her kid or herself because one or both of them is sick. Quite frankly I'm fed up with it.

Response from Carl: Thanks Smith. Based on what you mention I'm not sure what to suggest other than reminding your boss about the rules that were applied last year when you were denied the vacation for the more senior staff member.
