Student biology major

I plan on being a biology major in college, so i can later work towards becoming an anesthesiologist.

My only experience with an anesthesiologist was when my wife had our daughter and the anesthesiologist came into the delivery room before the birth to administer the needle. I actually ran into the anesthesiologist the next day in the hospital cafeteria and spoke with him for a few minutes regarding his job. He mentioned that he would work in this role for a period of time - several years from what I recall - and then once he had gained enough experience, would look at specializing in a different medical area.

Not knowing much about the job, it was quite interesting to hear his future plans and where he could go with this sort of experience. From what he told me, anesthesiologists like him were in high demand.
