Sales and Marketing
by Rayan
Response from Carl Thanks Rayan. You've gone for the bullet-pointed type Career Objective where you combine a full sentence to start with followed by a few short, punchy statements regarding your skills. Personally, I don't mind the style you've chosen as the shorter statements you make (in my mind) stand alone and show the reader your areas of expertise and what you bring to the table, so I like this. having said that, the words you use in these short statements could probably be better and could be written more specifically. Personally I'd get rid of the "perform a variety of tasks" statement since it sounds like something you'd read on a job description and doesn't really add to your profile as it tells the reader nothing about you or what you've done. Also, you mention Sales and Marketing in your Job Title area but don't mention anything specifically related to sales or marketing, or of your sales or marketing experience (if any) in your Career Objective. There is nothing about how many years of sales and marketing experience you have, no mention of any sales and marketing accomplishments, no mention of sales levels and quotas that you've achieved, etc. I'd think that if you have this prior experience, you should work it in here somehow. So, to combine my last two paragraphs together, imagine if you could add in a statement like "Consistently overachieved sales quotas by 108%" or "Delivered award-winning marketing campaigns that increased sales by 21%" or something like that. Specifics with numbers are always great to have when you work in sales. Carl |
