Seeking a business development position in a small/medium-sized high growth company where I can maximize my entrepreneurial experience and my strong knowledge of marketing and sales best practices (processes & business rules) of B2B distribution to enhance sales and brand awareness.

Response from Carl: Thanks Alex. The one thing to remember about including references to "small/medium" or "high growth" businesses is of course that the company you're applying to actually fits this criteria. In that regard, remember to tailor your Career Objective depending on the job and company you're applying to.

Some companies might not be happy about seeing themselves described as "small" though especially if they have plans to be much bigger so just watch what you say to avoid turning off any hiring managers!

As a recruiter, I've read plenty of Career Objectives (and cover letters too) where a person has written a generic one and has made comments that don't fit the job and/or company that they were contacting me for so just make sure that your comments fit the jobs and companies you're applying to.

If you have existing sales experience, one good thing to include in your Objective is a reference to any over achievement of sales quotas that you were responsible for if this is the case ie. Did you consistently meet or exceed your sales quotas? Sales managers often look for people who have this sort of track record to weed out less desirable candidates.
