Roommates and lovers

The operations manager who schedules crew for jobs often schedules his roommates/friends more often than others. Also, several people who are couples and also his friends get scheduled together. I have worked at this company for over a year and was given more responsibility by being given a "crew chief" title and a company phone. A girl who was hired was given the same responsibilities in less than six months and with less experience. She is currently dating one of the managers roommates. Although I have been given this responsibility I do not get scheduled as a crew chief but rather am put on the lower paying jobs. I don't know what to do, but it doesn't seem fair.

Response from Carl: Thanks for the submission Ticked Off and sorry about your predicament. I'm not sure what you can do either from what you mention. It sounds like favoritism based on what you mention but perhaps approaching your manager to figure out why you aren't getting the crew chief position would be your first step.
