I am very curious about something. I have just had my three-month evaluation. I have been told all along that I am doing great, I'm a keeper, doesn't matter how long it takes me to get my transcription lines up to speed, but I am staying, etc. I am a very good employee. Well out of the blue I get my eval, which my boss doesn't even tell me that I am not passing probation, but gives it to the main supervisor to tell me. The scores are 1, 2 and 3. I got all 2's and 3, no under 1's, which are the lowest. I received many nice compliments written on the eval and then at the end, I didn't pass probation. Extended for two months. I feel like I was blindsided and am looking for another job as I can't trust the person now. What do you think? <b>Response from Carl:</b> Ultimately, your manager is the one who holds the answer but with the economy the way it is these days, perhaps it is more to do with the company's inability to confirm staff beyond the probation period due to economic reasons? It seems that your positive evaluation would lead one to believe that you are in fact doing the job as can be expected so there must be another explanation. I'm guessing your boss is the one who you are going to have to ask for clarification although you might start by speaking with your supervisor who gave the evaluation to you for a further explanation.
