Response from Carl: Thanks Laurie. Remember that the Career Objective is where you show the reader (ie. hiring manager) what you offer them and not what you're looking for. Currently you really only discuss what you want from them. You want to give them reasons to interview you. I'm going to assume that you're graduating in April or thereabouts since that's typically when college/universities finish up on this side of the world...in that regard, I'd specify exactly when you're graduating so that hiring managers don't toss your resume aside, thinking that you're still in school for awhile longer. In your resume, I'd mention (if you already haven't) what date you graduate and in your cover letters, mention what date you can reasonably start a new job just so the reader isn't left guessing. Hiring managers and recruiters tend to look to fill jobs right away and often won't bother with someone who looks like they could be in school for awhile longer if it doesn't match their timeframe so at least if you give specifics as to when you'll be available to start a new job, they'll know.
