My career objectives are to continue expanding my knowledge and understanding in the nursing field. I wish to become more confident in all areas of patient care and experience the chance to try new skills and procedures. Another goal is to be an effective communicator with both patients and other health care providers. I aim to become more proficient, knowledgeable and help patients achieve a greater understanding of their health all the while keeping a sense of compassion, professionalism and humor.

Response from Carl: You don't need to start your Career Objective by actually stating it so I'd get rid of the reference to "My career objectives are..." I'd also try to keep out use of personal pronouns like "I", "me" etc since the Career Objective (like your resume) tends to be an impersonal document that refrains from using personal pronouns.

One of the main reasons we tend to leave out personal pronouns is that the Career Objective is supposed to be written in a way that shows the reader (ie. hiring manager) what we offer them and why they should interview us. Your document tends to focus on what you're looking for though ie. you include statements like "I wish to become...", "Another goal is to be..."

Do you hold a nursing degree or similar? If so, I'd want to include it here so the reader knows this up front.
