Why I Built My Website
Hi, my name is Carl and I first want to thank you for visiting my website. In a nutshell, here is why I set up this website. I began working as a recruiter in September 2000 and began helping people find jobs. I like helping people so working as a recruiter was a logical choice for me. Then in February 2004, I began working online for an Internet-based company and suddenly became aware of all the online possibilities that I'd never considered or even been aware of. I feel that I have many experiences in my career that I believe are relevant to job searchers and for a long time, I'd thought about somehow using this knowledge to help people with their careers. I've been self employed, been laid off (twice!), worked overseas (in New Zealand), and I've survived numerous corporate downsizings at companies I've worked for. After I got laid off a second time as part of a company downsizing, I figured it was about time I took my career into my own hands rather than allowing other people to control my fate. Besides, I realized years ago that I'm not a big fan of climbing the corporate ladder and that I preferred working for myself. The question was "what could I do to actually become self employed?" Given what I'd learned as a recruiter and what I'd learned working online, I decided to combine the two and set up my own website for career-minded individuals and so Find-Your-Dream-Career.com was born! Since then, I've set up an additional three websites and now have a total of four websites of my own! Maybe finding your dream career is closer than you think. Imagine if you could fire your boss and take your career into your own hands! Well, you can do more than just imagine it... How I Built My WebsiteIf you're wondering where I got my website from wonder no more.I built it myself! Looking at it another way, I built an online business myself! Okay, I didn't do it all myself. I had a great deal of help from a great company and their great product. To build and operate my websites, I use a web host called SiteBuildIt (SBI). In fact, there are many people who are doing the same thing I am and are running their own online businesses from the comfort of their homes, just like me. Imagine...no more office politics, no more long commutes, no more working for people who know less than you do. Even if you love your job and are just interested in gaining a part-time income, SBI can help you out, too. The truth is that I had no prior experience in web design so I couldn't have possibly set up this site (or my other websites that I now run) myself. In my experience, building a good website starts with a good idea or topic that you know about. Remember, people surf the Internet for information and to find things. Currently, there are over 56 million websites on the Internet and mine is already one of the top 1% most visited websites in the world. Want proof? If you want to pursue the option of working online but don't have any website development experience, then you're in the same boat I was in. Or if you're just thinking about starting up a personal website for fun, you're still in luck! If you want a solution that not only helps you build and host your site but also shows you how to get visitor traffic to it, then you're still in the same position I was in. There are so many companies that offer website hosting and web design and SEO (don't worry if you don't know what SEO stands for...) and all sorts of other things related to building a website. Very few of them actually tell you how to build a website that actually attracts visitors! You wouldn't set up a business in your basement and just expect people to come knocking on your door to buy stuff from you, right? And yet so many people set up a website with a cheap ISP offering the lowest price around and after spending hours / weeks / months building their website, they give up when no one visits their site. I don't have that problem. People visit my website and the number of people visiting just keeps increasing! What Kind Of Business
