find your dream career

Mechanical Engineering

by Mike

To secure a position where I can utilize my mechanical engineering degree and leverage my strong result-oriented and innovative skills with 9 years experience in positions of increasing responsibility.

Response from Carl: Thanks Mike. I like how you've mentioned your years of experience and mention that your level of responsibility has increased during this time.

I also like that you've mentioned that you have a mechanical engineering degree but I'd spell it out a bit more specifically so that it stands out a bit more ie. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar. This way you get to capitalize some of the words which visually helps to make your degree stand out a bit better.

Also, it helps the reader to understand that you do actually hold a real degree. As a recruiter I've read many resumes where someone alludes to a "degree" and then later in the resume or during the interview, I find out that in fact they took a couple of courses or hold a diploma or something like that. When you spell out your degree in full, it helps me as the reader to know exactly what education level you have.
