An enthusiastic career changer with extensive 8-years background in banking and customer service, seeking a position in marketing that leverage my customer experience, communication and creative skills which allow me to contribute to the company’s marketing division.

Response from Carl: Thanks Rach. Since you have a background in banking and customer service and want to make a switch over to another field - marketing in this case - the best thing you can do is show the reader that you have transferable skills and that you are a quick learner. Typically hiring managers do usually look for people who have prior experience in the field they're hiring for so you might be competing for jobs against people who do already have marketing experience.

If you have any prior marketing experience or related experience, you might allude to it here and in your resume and cover letter too.

Also, assuming you haven't already done so I'd enquire with your current employer about a possible position in marketing since it will most likely be easier to get a job in marketing with your current employer who already knows you than with a new company that doesn't know anything about you.
