To secure a management position that will benefit from my 8 years time tested business experience in international trade and diplomatic institutions. My extensive background mainly managing the sales pipeline and fostering global partnerships for an international shipping company; combined with invaluable exposure in communication & development have been instrumental to my achieving strong managerial, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Response from Carl: Thanks Wangui. I think you mention some good things in your Career Objective. It is a bit long though so perhaps you can pare it down a bit by getting rid of words that can probably be removed without changing what you're saying.

For example your first sentence could be combined with the second sentence to form something like this:

Manager with 8 years experience in international trade and diplomatic institutions with an extensive background managing the sales pipeline and fostering global partnerships.

That's just a start...hopefully you get the idea. I think the above statement says the same thing you mentioned but just used fewer words.
