Lunch with the boss daily

There are two of us department managers under the General Manager (male). My counterpart (male) goes to lunch almost daily with the boss...the boss pays for it on his corporate expense card. He has never taken me or anyone else to lunch.

Response from Carl: Based on what you mention, I can't really tell how long this has gone on for or why. Have the two (your colleague and your boss) become friends outside of work and have started to hang out? I'd be careful about assuming too much before knowing all the facts.

You don't mention anything else about your boss that bothers you (ie. preferential treatment towards others) so assuming this lunch issue bothers you a lot, maybe you should ask him why only this one person keeps getting to go for lunch while you don't. I don't know how else you're going to find out.
