Organizing Your Job Hunt

A job hunt can be a fulltime job in and of itself if it’s done properly.

These days, a job search cannot simply consist of emailing resumes to a few companies and then sitting back waiting for the calls to come in.

To put together a complete job hunt, you need to get your name out there:

  • Let your friends know you are looking for a new job
  • Choose several Internet job boards where you might post your resume and also search for jobs
  • Enlist the help of 3-4 recruiters
  • Check newspaper ads
  • Search job banks
  • Attend networking events that may or may not be related to your profession and find decision makers who might help you with your search.
  • Treat your job hunt like a fulltime job if you are serious about it.

Also, cover your bases and utilize as many resources as possible during your job search. Just make sure you do all of these resources well.

There is a difference between quantity and quality so ensure you are getting both.
