What if anything can an employee do when an employer has misrepresented the job scope, responsibility and function both in the recruitment and hiring process.

Response from Carl: If you feel the job description has been misrepresented the logical thing would be to speak with your manager about the specifics that are different - ie. the job as it is shown on paper versus what the job actually entails - and get an answer.

I've found that in many cases, a person starts a job and finds that at least to start with the job isn't exactly as they thought. You might want to give it a bit of time before making an issue out of it.
