With an extensive 18 year background in Human Resources and Administration, I am seeking a position in Human Resources Management which will allow me to utilize my experiences and developed skills with the opportunity for professional growth.

Response from Carl: Since you work in HR, you're in a unique position that most of us aren't: you're probably used to reading hundreds or thousands of resumes and Career Objectives so I guess my question would be "what do you often look for when you read a person's Career Objective?" I'd take that answer and ensure you include at least some of the big answers in your Career Objective.

With that in mind, since you're looking for a Human Resources Management position, I'd fill the reader in on your "extensive 18 year background" in HR and mention some of the specific areas you have experience with ie. hiring/firing, HR protocols and laws, payroll, etc.

I'd also comment on any previous management experience you have and if you have any, tell us how many staff you've managed. If you have no direct management experience, you could tell us the size of businesses you're worked for to give us an idea of how many staff you were administering the HR function for.
