With 7 years of extensive quality assurance experience in the pharmaceutical and food industry, seeking an entry-level Research & Development position which will allow me to utilize my strong analytical and leadership skills.

I think you're off to a good start but could improve what you've written by replacing the end part ("utilize my strong analytical and leadership skills") with something that describes an accomplishment or two that a potential hiring manager would be interested to read about. Currently the last part of your statement really refers to something you're looking for - a position where you could utilize several of your skills - but is a statement that doesn't really add anything to your candidacy.
