Are You An Entrepreneur?
There are different ways to describe an entrepreneur. Someone who is entrepreneurial is often thought of as someone who is self employed and is a creative and imaginative person who become successful working for themselves with their own ideas. We often think of them as being self-made. Having said that, it's also possible to be entrepreneurial while working for someone else if you are allowed a certain amount of latitude to think and act on your own and possibly reap the benefits. Entrepreneurs are often thought of as people who take risks since entrepreneurial ventures generally means that the entrepreneur accepts some or all of the financial risk of their endeavor. They are people who are also often described as having entrepreneurial spirit or being an entrepreneurial type. In other words, they "have it in them" to be an entrepreneur which leads to the discussion of whether entrepreneurs are made or born. In other words, are you born an entrepreneur or is it possible to become one? At the end of the day, your personality and individual circumstances will most likely determine whether or not you "have it in you" and whether or not it's something that you'd be good at. Certainly, your aversion to risk, your financial situation, your creativity and other factors can go a long way to determining if becoming an entrepreneur is in the cards for you. Whether or not you need a regular paycheck paid for by someone else can factor in, too! An entrepreneur who enjoys the freedom and individuality of being entrepreneurial might grapple with the economic reality of being an entrepreneur. If they can't fund their work themselves, they might have to rely on the financial aid (ie. venture capital) provided by an outside group in exchange for giving up some of the power and control of their entrepreneurial venture which might go against the whole idea of being an entrepreneur in the first place.
