Employment offer from united nation sustainable development agency

I am suspicious about the employment offer which i have received from the above captioned UN organization. Is this the real and correct UN organization?

The person who is communicating as recruitment officer and writing an email at least 5 times until now has taken my CV, copies of credentials
and still has sent me employment contract and different employment formalities. Questions are still coming to get copies of my passport etc

What is going on these days? Can you tell me the existence of the above captioned UN company?

Response from Carl: Thanks Bekele. You didn't forward the actual email so I can't comment on it nor did you mention if this was a job you actually applied for or if you simply received an email out of the blue from someone "offering" you a job. Certainly if you just received an email out of the blue for a job you didn't apply for, it's almost certainly a scam. Companies don't offer jobs to people they've never met or spoken with by simply sending emails.

I receive emails like this myself - most of them go directly to my Junk folder so I often don't see them right away - so even my ISP has flagged them as spam.
