Describe college life

How has your college life prepared you for further studies or career?

Response from Carl: Thanks Arun. College life certainly depends on a number of things not the least of which include the country, city, state/province in which the college resides, how big the college is, what major you take and what classes you take. On top of that of course is what sort of person you are ie. how outgoing are you and how easily can you adapt to the new environment?

In my experience, I found it took me about midway through year 2 before I really figured out how to be successful in university. The workload was greater than in high school, I was living away from home for the first time and I didn't know anyone in my classes at least to start with. It was really a new world for me.

In terms of the work itself you'll probably find that you need to work a bit differently (ie. more productively) than in high school since the workload will probably be greater than what you're used to.

In terms of extracurricular activities you'll probably find yourself exposed to a number of new things to try out and will hopefully be able to meet new friends as well. At the school I went to there were literally hundreds of clubs, groups, associations and other extracurricular activities to join.
