Response from Carl: Thanks Ola. Since you're working in development currently and want to make a switch to a job as a DBA, perhaps you could list a few of your strongest technical skills (i.e. programming languages) to illustrate that you're a person capable of learning new technical skills. I'd probably also take out the "I'm an ethusiastic and self-motivated..." part and replace it with things that are specific to your background and skillset that a potential hiring manager would want to read about. Certainly being an enthusiastic and self-motivated person are great attributes but for the purposes of the Career Objective, you really want to focus on specific skills and experience that you offer the hiring manager that are specific to the job and that improve your chances relative to other people applying for the same positions you are.
