CFO's granddaughter

At the company I work for the CFO's grand-daughter works there too. I have been there a year and a half longer than her and she makes more than me and has gotten two promotions. She got to order her own office chair to sit in when everyone else has to sit on uncomfortable armless chairs. We get written up if we have any overtime on our timecards, except for her. It drives me crazy and I don't think it is fair.

Response from Carl: Thanks Erica. It sounds like you are experiencing a case of nepotism. I've worked for companies where family members are employed and there appeared to be favoritism there too.

It's hard to say what you can do to resolve this other than dealing with the specific issues you refer to ie. why are you being written up for working overtime? Why can't you get a better chair?
