Boss favouritism

We are 3 ladies in our section. My boss favours one lady who is from their tribe. Based on the nature of work,nobody is supposed to work in one place for more than a week. She has been working in the same office for five years and whatever she does is always hidden. She is the only one who the boss recommends for promotion stating that she knows how to work well compared to us but we will never be given a chance. Of late another boss promoted me to the same position but my boss has completely declined to give me work. I stay in the office idle while she will be doing all the work which will obviously be hidden. She and my boss pretends to be my friends which I doubt BCOZ my boss cannot correct me even when am in the wrong. Please advise. Judy.

Here in North America, the issue that you refer to about favoritism based on someone's tribe is certainly not something we hear about very often but I'm sure there are readers from around the world who might know exactly what you are talking about. It's difficult for me to offer any suggestions based on what you mention as I've never experienced this issue myself and am somewhat unfamiliar with it to be honest. Perhaps our readers can offer up some advice for you.
