boss brings in girlfriend

While I was on medical leave my boss brought his fiance into do my lead job. Well I got a letter in the mail telling me I was demoted from my lead position. Funny thing is that I was never wrote up for anything at all. Well, when I went back he ended up given the position to her with 40 hrs a week with benefits. When I was lead I asked for 40 hrs. a week with benefits, well he told me that he could not offer that to me. I went to our union, but of course they did nothing. I was just wondering if I had any kind of case to take it the EEO or the civil rights or even a lawyer?

Response from Carl: If you feel you have a case and you've already spoken with the union, perhaps consulting a lawyer to discuss your options is your next step as you refer to above.
