Response from Carl: Have you called the number and spoken with anyone from the company? Just out of interest, why would an oil and gas company use a free Hotmail account instead of getting a real email address with their company name in the domain name? Read through the comments below from other visitors and I think you'll see that this company does not exist.

Hi i have received interview call from Aston oil & gas comp and also I replied to mail and forward my CV to them i got an application form which needs to be fill and revert back. As ur post suggest that this comp is fake I am afraid that they have my details as i forward them my CV. please reply

Response from Carl: Thanks Kannan. You don't mention if you even applied to this company. If you read the earlier posts from me, it appears that the Aston Oil company does not exist. Certainly if you didn't apply to them, how could they be offering you a job.

Reading through the letter you sent, there are many spelling and grammatical errors which further lead me to believe that this letter is a fake and you should delete it. Again, read my earlier comments below.

Response from Carl: Sorry I but have not heard of them. If you applied to them and got a response, that's one thing. But if you got an email from them and have never applied to them before, it's likely that they are not a real company. Do some research, check their website (if they don't have one, I'd be suspicious) and see what you can find out about them.

Like I said, companies don't email you out of the blue offering an interview if you've never applied to them before. This is a classic scam that people pull and it's usually followed by them requesting money from you to set up the interview or something similar. I'm not saying this company isn't legitimate since you didn't mention if you'd applied for a job with them or if they just contacted you even though you'd never applied to them before.

As I mentioned in the posting on this subject, it would appear that the Aston Oil and Gas company does not actually exist. If you receive an email from a company who you've never heard of, who has no Internet address and who you didn't apply to, it's most likely going to be a scam.

As far as the other company mentioned below called SK Technologies, I haven't seen this email so I can't say for certain but I did a quick Google search and it sounds like you're not the only person complaining about this company.
