A Tale of Two Christmas Parties

Not long ago, there was a little west coast company. Their pockets were full, their ambitions were high, so they purchased and merged with a larger east coast company.

Years go by, east versus west. Kinks in the workplace never got addressed.

The holiday season approached. The east coast location waited in anticipation for news of their upcoming holiday party. "Tick-tock," said the clock. December was flying by, yet no news arrived.

That is, until the company newsletter appeared.

"Come one, come all to our luxurious ball!" exclaimed the post. The party's location is west because, of course, we are the best! If you can't make *that* date, don't despair, don't be depressed. We'll just have ANOTHER fest! That's right, TWO parties from which the west can choose!

East coast? Go take a snooze.

Response from Carl: Thanks Cindy Lou. I was waiting for the happy ending for this story...but it appears there isn't one at least not from someone like yourself on the east coast. I appreciate the effort you put forth in your submission though.

I once worked for a company that had locations throughout the country and they not only had regional Christmas parties, they'd even fly people in and put them up in a hotel overnight so they could attend the closest party if they lived out of town. How's that for nice treatment? Many companies won't go to that extent but I'm guessing from your comments that this isn't the only example of favoritism that you've witnessed.
